Blog Post: Kara Neil

In this concert rotation, I’m playing horn in the Harmonie Ensemble, which is basically a wind octet plus flute. I’m not sure what we’ll be playing on the concert, because we have just been reading different pieces during rehearsal, but it has been an enjoyable experience so far. UMWO generally plays obscure new music, so it has been nice to be able to read music that is a little easier on the ears! Reading a bunch of pieces has given me the opportunity to improve on my sight-reading and communication with the rest of the ensemble. I hope you enjoy whatever we end up playing!
